Fried Bashang Red MushroomsIntroduction

Red mushrooms are important ectomycorrhizal fungi of coniferous trees. In northern areas, they form the mycorrhiza of Japanese red pine. Red mushrooms can’t be cultivated artificially so far. So, they are natural and green plants. With a very low yield, they are seen in the mountains of Bashang, Chengde as well as Qinglong Mountains, Yanshan Mountains and Lingyuan of western Liaoning. They are picked by local farmers before dried. They are called so because they look red.
